The little girl that didn't like the water and the big boy that did.....

To start with that is! Today's session was with a gorgeous couple of kids and their equally delightful mum! The weather was a lovely 30 degrees, the water was warm and it didn't take long for the boys to get in. Miss S was a bit more cautious, a few tears to begin with but before long she was in and splashing and having a ball. Here are a couple of my favourites so far. :)

Just some more stuff......

I have been really busy, I know I say it all the time but it really is true. I have been working weekends and a few days a week and Troy has been doing an excellent job as a house husband.  Between school, kinder, kids stuff and work I haven't had time to do much, so an update of some more images from our week away. These ones are from a little inlet near Eden. Troy went fishing here with his dad about 20 years ago and caught a massive flathead, but it got away! I think it was a figment of his imagination but he swears it's true. So, he was determined to catch something here. It was a gorgeous spot, the tide was out and the beach was 100 metres away. We stayed for a couple of hours but didn't catch a thing! I am sure we will go back there again, to catch the elusive 'one that got away!'

Montsalvat

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with some fellow photographers and their children at a gorgeous old castle in outer Melbourne. It is a beautiful location for a photo shoot, lots of green beautiful gardens and the old castle itself which was BIG! The older kids ran riot though secret passages and old narrow staircases to dark and dingy basements. There was a beautiful old hall which has gorgeous light and an old piano in the corner, which seemed to be very popular with the kids. Tyler had an absolute ball, there were lots of boys around the same age and he and his new mate Charlie were as thick as theives for most of the day. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

A week away!

I have been slack again, but do have an excuse. We took a trip to Merimbula for 5 nights and then to the Gippsland lakes at Eagle Point for 2 on the way home. We had a fantastic time, although Merimbula is much to touristy for us. Eagle Point was perfect, 5 minutes from Paynesville and water everywhere. On Saturday we took the boat out all day. We left at 7 am and got back to the caravan park at 7 pm. We took the boat across the lake to the Nicholson River where we stopped for some bait, then across the lake to Metung where we stopped for drinks and a toilet break. We headed around to a little inlet with a beach and fished for a bit. Tyler got off the boat and played for ages on the shore. I caught a nice size bream which was the only catch at that spot. We then headed back across the lake to Paynesville for fish and chips for lunch. Then back on the boat and around to Eagle Point and the Mitchell River. We caught masses of little bream but only kept one. The kids had a ball and then the mozzies came. They were huge! Anyway, here is a few shots from the week!!

Yes, I've been slack.......

No posts for a whole month. Sorry to those who are looking for updates (the few of you, lol.) No excuses just slack and busy. Facebook seems to be taking up a bit of my time...... I digress. I am still over the moon with Dale's presets. For anyone interested go to http://www.lifescolorfulcanvas.com/ So I have been taking lots of photo's but not for me so I have to update with an oldie that has been re-worked and a newie that I won a canvas print of!

I recently did a shoot for an extended family of mum and two gorgeous daughters, her brother, wife and absolutely adorable 6 month old twins (and Ralph the dog!) It poured with rain the whole time so we made do with an inside shoot. The twins have the most amazing eyes, so blue and big! These are a couple of my favourites.

Everything old is new again.

I have purchased Dale Taylor's presets, and I haven't been this excited for ages. She has a huge talent as a photographer, but completes the whole package with her presets. She is so unique and her work is simply stunning. The presets are a real snapshot of what Dale does, big, bold and colourful. She has included heaps of presets and I have been playing since I got them! I found a pic of my big & little boys from a few months ago and ran Dales vintage brown action over it. It suits Troy because of his red hair and freckles, lol. We had a great day at the Westernport festival on this day, Tyler and Troy rode the dodgem cars and ganged up against Darryn who was riding on his own. Typical boys.......

All about Emily

Today's post is all about Emily. She had broken her wrist in April and had plaster on for 4 weeks. When the plaster came off her wrist wasn't right and she needed corrective surgery and pins to fix it. On Friday she had her second round of surgery to take the plaster off and pins out. I am very proud of her, it is not a big thing for us adults but to her it was huge. She rarely gets sick and has a huge needle phobia. I feel that she has matured immensly during this time, and just love her to bits as any mother that has a daughter does!

The Birthday Boy!

Tyler had a birthday this week, he has turned 5! All he really wanted was a Richmond jumper, which he got of course. The jumper hasn't come off since Monday. He wanted to wear it to bed he likes it that much. I was hoping to get some nice serious photos of the 5 year old, but it seems that my willing cute model has turned into that child that gives the cheesy fake grins as soon as the camera comes out. Here is his latest antics, and no, I didn't get any decent ones on his birthday, lol. :)

Alien Adventures

I have been very slack over the past few weeks. School holidays are here and I promised that I would take some photo's 'for me' rather than everyone else. We had a bit of an adventure yesterday. We headed off to Bomberland to get Darryn a new Essendon jumper. We then went into the city to the Boat Show. The kids managed to get these inflatables, the Stacer hippo and Fusion Alien. We ended up at the Central Marine Hastings stand where the alien and hippo climbed aboard the Grady Whites ready to cruise! The alien also managed to wave to everybody that we passed or passed us on Citylink on the way home last night, there was quite a few drivers and passengers that were a bit surprised and looked twice before laughing at us. The kids thought it was hilarious. Many thanks to the guys and girls at http://www.centralmarine.com.au/ for letting us run amok for a litte bit!

I was cleaning out my pictures a couple of days ago when I came across this photo. It is of my best friends daughter Kaisha. She is a gorgeous young woman, well not so young now as she has just turned 18. I can remember when she was born like it was last week! I don't feel that I am getting older until I look around and see the kids are growing up. Then I think I had better stop rowing up that river denial and face reality. My baby will be starting school next year and my eldest will be starting his senior years at Secondary college and then onto his VCE. They can all keep growing and I will stay comfortably here in my late twenties. (Yeah right, that was a typo I meant to say thirties......)

Rhiannen & Emily

This is Rhiannen and Emily, I am friends with their mums. (we used to be work colleagues but now are friends, lol) The girls have grown into beautiful confident young women. I had a blast at their session last week, both the families are so much fun, I think they enjoyed it as much as I did!

Autumn has arrived.

Tyler and I went for a walk today, which is something we haven't done for a while. It was a gorgeous day, the leaves are falling, the grass is green and the sun was shining. There was some new calves in the paddock at the end of the street and Tyler was fascinated in them. Usually we can observe from a distance but today they were right up against the fence trying to eat the newly mown grass. I love living in this area, everything right at our doorstep but a farm at the end of the street. The best of both worlds!

I just had to show off this gorgeous vintage action that I found. I love the sepia tone and whole rustic look to it.

Well, we are into May already, the financial year is nearly over! Bring on tax time. ;)

May is the month for Australia's biggest morning tea to raise funds for the cancer council. If you can attend or host you would be contributing to a fantastic cause. We all know of someone who has been touched by cancer. Unfortunately it is now all to common.

A cold day at the beach.

We decided to head to the beach today. The coldest day of the year so far. It was freezing! The wind was cold, the sand was cold, the water was cold. It was just so cold. The pub served up a nice warm lunch though, so we spent more time there than at the beach. We also stopped at a working farm on the way home to see 400 cows at milking time. They also had an animal nursery. The lamb and calves were very popular. So, a couple of snaps from the day, and none of Tyler. Troy informs me that he has indulged in far too many pies at the speedway this season. ;)

Master Riley

This gorgeous little man is Riley. He is the youngest of my friend Loretta's four gorgeous kids, and the only boy. He is an adorable little thing, very photogenic with big beautiful brown eyes. His big sisters are just as cute as he is, and they know it too!

My Emily has broken her wrist today. :( She had a fall at school during PE. She is in plaster for the next 4 weeks. I hate it when my babies are hurt.

Sunday, April 20, 2008

I'm back again. I had my regular squiz on Demon Deeva's blog and she has put up a link to Brooks and Dunn's hillbilly song.

So I thought I would come back and show off some of my favourite shots of Adam Brand. These were taken at the Cranbourne Monster Trucks in April 2007.

Mucking around.

It has been a few weeks since I have updated. We have just been extremely busy. I have been flat out with work, and now back working weekends too. My wonderful husband has been ill of sorts, so with him, the kids, school holidays and work the photography has taken a bit of a back seat.

I had borrowed a speedlite and managed a few snaps, I still have a long way to go but did the popular kids jumping on the bed routine. Tyler was most obliging as always. That kid of mine takes a great photo, even when he is being crazy!

Tuesday, April 1, 2008

I love the little bubbles in his mouth. Awww, he is so cute. I had a wonderful day today, lunch with my aunt and uncle, lots of newborn cuddles and an impromtu surprise dinner with some wonderful friends. One of those days where everything was good. Now it's time for bed!

Meet Keenan Alexander.

This is the beautiful Keenan Alexander who I had the pleasure of photographing today with his gorgeous mum Bec. Keenan was only 32 hours old, so precious and tiny. Bec looked absolutely glowing for a new first time mum.

Photo a day January

For the EB challenge I completed 'Photo a day' for the month of January. It was about taking a different photo each day and taking ourselves out of our comfort zone and doing something different. I was so pleased to complete the whole month of photo's, and very happy with the results. By the end of the month I was running out of ideas and the kids ran a mile when they saw me coming with my camera! So here are some of my favourites.
